Chinook Arch Regional Library System

Chinook Arch Regional Library System is a partnership between southwestern Alberta libraries and has its headquarters in Lethbridge. They work under the mission, “Connecting to provide exceptional library service”. Their vision is: “Thriving Libraries. Thriving Communities”.

Chinook Arch Regional Library System was formed in 1992, and today it includes thirty-three libraries in forty-one member municipalities across southern Alberta, on traditional Blackfoot territory.

In collaboration with the Lethbridge Public Library, they host the Southern Alberta Library Conference, a two-day event where delegates will learn about new trends and best practices in services that libraries provide for their communities. This conference brings together community-minded individuals who believe that all people should have access to shared resources which support literacy, lifelong learning, and an excellent quality of life. This library system also produces outstanding Book Club Kits that their members can check out.
