Bluerock Gallery is a gem of a destination art gallery and independent bookstore based in Black Diamond, just south of Calgary. Under the mandate “Collaborating together to create community through art”, they specialize in local fine arts and craft, including pottery, gift cards, jewelry, and inspiring books. They are known for offering a warm and inclusive environment for artists and art-lovers, and for supporting local creators – they currently represent almost 200 regional fine artists and craftspeople, with many of them living and working within 100 miles of the gallery.
They have also carefully nurtured a robust book section, collecting inspiring and unusual books, including many titles by local authors and with regional content, and featuring a monthly book club. And they offer complimentary gift-wrapping and host various events and book signings.
Located on the historic Cowboy Trail, with one of their buildings still sporting a name from its history, “Woo’s General Store,” this store takes its role of supporting the arts in its community seriously. Accessible and friendly, and offering an extraordinary collection at a variety of price-points, this beloved local business is dedicated to creating a space where great art and great people meet.
