Shortlist Announced for Airdrie Reads 2021
“We wanted to do Airdrie Reads for a couple of reasons. I think 2020 really made people aware of the importance of and freedom in the escapism books give us. Additionally, the Arts has been really impacted by everything, and we wanted to share some love for the literary arts: both in the act of writing and reading. Locally, we also are partnering with local businesses, and providing a different way to engage with them within the respective public health restrictions.” —Kim Cheel, Big Sky Author Services and Co-Founder of Airdrie Reads
The shortlist has been announced for the inaugural Airdrie Reads, in which prominent Airdrie residents champion Alberta books throughout July and August. Links and access to the live debates can be accessed through airdrielife magazine.
More information is available here.
The five champions who will be defending books are Heather Spearman, Jordan Harris, Sarika Mehta, Kiersten Mohr, and Daniel Nelles.
